Sizing Instructions
- Instructions: Enter the exact size of the item you are framing when ordering both the frame and any accompanying acrylic/glass and backing accessories. The frame will be built around these dimensions.
- Exception - Desired Deviation: Not common, but if you wish to order a frame for a desired outside frame dimension or visible front window opening, simply specify in the special instructions box on the cart page that you are ordered based on that intent and we will adjust to accommodate.
- Exception - Ordering a Mat Package: When ordering a 2" border mat package, add 4" to the exact dimensions of your item when sizing BOTH the Frame and Mat Package. 4" is added because each dimension has two sides (top/bottom, left/right)
- Exception - Ordering a Frame w/ Linen Liner: The liner should be ordered at the exact dimensions of the artwork. For the outer frame, add twice the width of the liner to the item dimensions. For example if a 1 1/2" liner is being ordered along with a frame for a print that measures 14" x 12 1/2", the liner should be ordered at 14" x 12 1/2" while the outer frame should be ordered at 17" x 15 1/2". This is for pricing purposes, the shop will make sure to fit the frame around the liner appropriately.
- Note: We add a standard 1/8" allowance per dimension when making custom frames except for floater frames where we incorporate a standard 1/4" gap around ordered dimensions
